Progold believes in the growth and education of young jewellery designers and actively supports their approach to new production technologies. Through the PROGOL3D® Design Contest, the company introduces students to precious metals Additive Manufacturing using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF), providing a concrete understanding of its principles, potential, and application in jewellery design. The initiative aims to promote Additive Manufacturing as an advanced and complementary production method within the contemporary jewellery industry.
Since 2016, Progold has been collaborating with selected jewellery schools worldwide, offering students the opportunity to develop design projects based on a shared theme and conceived specifically for metal Additive Manufacturing. The contest encourages a Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) approach, guiding students to integrate creativity, technical awareness, and manufacturability into their design process.
